Electroplating racks
An electroplating rack is a fixture or bracket used to mount or secure workpieces during the electroplating process. During electroplating, the workpiece must be connected to a power source and fully immersed in the plating solution, so the rack acts as a bridge between the workpiece and the current.
Main Functions
-
Conductivity: Usually made of metals such as copper, brass, or stainless steel, the rack ensures efficient current flow to the workpieces.
-
Fixation: Holds and secures the parts firmly to prevent them from falling off or shaking during plating.
-
Arrangement: Maintains proper spacing between parts to ensure uniform exposure to the plating solution.
-
Ease of operation: Facilitates loading, unloading, hanging, and moving of parts.
Common Types
-
Hook type: The simplest form, suitable for large or regularly shaped parts.
-
Spring-clip type: Uses spring force to hold small parts in place.
-
Custom fixture type: Tailored to the shape of specific parts for precise positioning.
-
Rotating rack: Designed to rotate the parts, ensuring even plating on all surfaces.
